The Akana Story

The vision for Akana Integrative Medicine stems from our founder Dr Catherine Collins, one of Perth’s most experienced integrative doctors.

Dr Collins’ journey to becoming an integrative GP started soon after beginning in General Practice and was born from her yearning to more comprehensively support patients. This includes those who don’t fit into a simple diagnostic box or who have a diagnosis – like IBS or chronic fatigue – where few options for healing exist using western medicine. She was driven to investigate the root cause of disease, rather than treating symptoms alone, and this led her to further studies.

Today, Dr Collins and the wider Akana team understand true wellness comes from a holistic perspective. They know solving ‘medical mysteries’ and generating real health is infinitely more possible when:

• Lifestyle factors are assessed as part of the picture.
